About me
Patricia Winkler P.T.,M.S.,D.Sc.,NCS (emerita) is a physical therapist who has worked in hospital and rehabilitation settings, owned a neurological-focused private practice and as an Assistant Professor at Regis University. Her interest in healthcare came from parents who were both in health care professions. While working with people with TBI, Pat became interested in visual influences on movement so completed a M.S. in Physiological Optics (University of Houston), her research on visual control of balance. Her continued interest in research related to balance and movement lead to a D.Sc. in Advanced Neurology (Rocky Mountain University for Health Professions in 2005). Her focus and research have been on sensory system influences on gait and balance in people with vestibular, T.B.I, Parkinson and Mal de Debarquement.
