About me
Born and raised in Colorado, Krista Covell-Pierson, OTR/L,BCB-PMD knew since age 17 she would become an OT after being inspired by her aunt that worked as an OT in pediatrics. Krista attended CSU earning degrees in social work and occupational therapy. Krista worked in hospitals, home health, inpatient psychiatric units and served as the Director of Rehabilitation in two skilled nursing facilities before starting her one-of-a-kind mobile outpatient practice 11 years ago. She now provides client-care in the home setting and manages a diverse team of employees and contractors to help adults and older adults live, work and play in their homes and communities with optimum safety and independence. Krista enjoys being a fieldwork instructor for OT students and received the Fieldwork Educator of the Year Award in 2013 from Colorado State University. She is dementia care certified and board certified in biofeedback for pelvic muscle dysfunction. Krista believes all of us can reach our dreams and thoroughly enjoys helping health care workers with an entrepreneurial itch to go into business for themselves. This is Krista's second year as the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado's President.
