Treating the Cervical Spine While Never Leaving The Seat (Part 1)

This presentation will inform the participants of the development, purpose, and significance of the IFOMPT Cervical Framework. We will discuss via case study how the framework may inform decision making especially regarding risk analysis. Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice to address mobility impairments and motor control impairments while the patient remains seated.

This presentation will provide attendees with evidence-based methods of evaluating and treating common pediatric diagnoses that may be seen in a rural or orthopedic physical therapy setting. This presentation will also discuss when to refer to a pediatric physical therapy specialist and/or orthotist. This presentation will include: review of current literature, prognostic variables, clinical reasoning, and case studies. It will be delivered in a lecture and question/answer format.

Information covered will include: an overview of relevant anatomy and neurophysiology, indications/contraindications for pelvic health treatment, evidence-based approaches to orthopedic assessment and treatment of the spine and pelvis, and case studies involving pelvic health and orthopedic presentations. The presentations will be delivered in a lecture and hands-on lab format with the presenter available to guide attendees and answer questions.
