Imaging Choices for Physical Therapists: Navigating The Maze (Part 1)
Friday September 27, 2024 1:00pm - 2:30pm MDT
Background: Physical therapists are integral to the recovery of health, function, and wellness of patients.
Physical therapists have broadened their practices and are now encountering patients who seek help and guidance outside the narrow area that initially brought them to the physical therapy office.

Need: Physical therapists in Colorado are permitted to order appropriate imaging examinations for their patients but may lack the preparatory background needed to order the most useful imaging test.

Presentation Description: This presentation is based on the presenter's 35-year history of practicing in the outpatient imaging environment, during which he was personally involved in the implementation of CT, Ultrasound, MRI, PET, and other tests. He has introduced hundreds of specialists and non-specialists to these tests and has helped them establish methods for determining which test to order. This presentation attempts to simplify and organize an approach to the selection and understanding of the best test for the individual patient.
